Why is Brisbane City Hall called The People's Place?

It earned the nickname 'The People's Place' because it functions as the architectural and civic heart of the city.

What historical features are inside?

The building holds a vintage hand-operated lift, a 4,400-pipe organ, and a Pantheon-inspired auditorium.

You can ride Brisbane's oldest working hand-operated elevator up the 87.47-meter Clock Tower. The main auditorium features a historic Father Henry Willis & Sons Pipe Organ. Visitors can also see 5-meter clock faces and 4.3-tonne Westminster chime bells.
